I am looking for suggestions, recommendations on how I might trace the
genealogy of my 1951 MGTD MkII. I've come to a dead end.

Here is what I know (which is miniscule):

The TD was manufactured October 10, 1951. I got that from the official
factory records held by the MG Car Club in the UK.

It was first titled in the US in 1952 but do not know where.

It was found in Arizona in 1978, at that time owned by an Army guy who semi
blew the engine when he tried to get more horsepower out of it.

An 18 year old guy purchased it in Arizona in 1978 and brought it to
Indiana.

It was then purchased by a Mr. Don Bowman in September 1978, who is the
restorer and the person who sold me the car in February 1999.

I have asked Mr. Bowman the name of the person he bought it from almost 30
years ago. He has no recollection. I wrote the Indiana DMV for assistance
but they destroy all records if there is no activity on a title for five
years.

So that's where I stand. I only know when my TD was manufactured and the
previous owner. I would like to track the history in between, from the time
it was imported into the US until Mr. Bowman purchased it.

Now that Indiana DMV cannot help, where else can I search?
