Scott, this looks normal to me......Jerry Felper will probably chime in....
I'd say your battery went flat just because it sat there for 5 months with 
out a charge.  Any lead acid battery will do this unless it is a gel cell.  
Thats why I have Optima batteries in all my cars.  If its not in tip top 
shape, then the small key off drain made sure it would go flat.
Give it a good charge and you'll probably be ok until next year.  If its over 
4 years old, replace it and consider a gel cell.  Exide makes one too that is 
black.
