Scott: Which clamping system does the block use for the distributor? If it's the later type, then the bolt which clamps it may have rotated so it's half moon cut out will no longer let the distributor's shaft pass by. Also it is sometimes necessary to twist the distributor shaft some to get the teeth of the gears to line up.
