I too had this problem and solved it with 'L' shaped angle iron and a
slide hammer. Cut 2 pieces of angle iron about 6" long and weld together to
form a 'U' shape that is wide enough to sit the oil pump in it with the 'U'
shape running alongside the engine block from front to back. Drill 2 holes
thru one of the sides of the 'U' to mate with the holes in the oil pump and
bolt thru using the existing bolts. Now attach a slide hammer to the centre
of the base of the 'U' and gently slide the weight away from the block to
its end stop, thus tapping out the pump. The pump is a tight fit in the
