All right, I'm a little late on this one. I was cleaning up
files when this hit me.

Several people have reported better high end power after putting
in the Pentronix system. No mention is made of really high
engine speeds where point bounce or misfires occur because the
dwell time is too short.

I also reported that one installer had to correct the advance
curve as removal of the points allowed the centrifugal advance to
come on too soon and advance too much from specification.

Original engines were 7.25 compression to handle the English
"pool petrol" of 70 or was it 80 octane (old rating formula).

Think about all of this a minute.

You've been thinking?

Hint: What is the lowest octane petrol we use in our T types?

Got it?

The better high speed running may be because the engine can now
handle more advance because of the higher octane gas! Perhaps we
point users
can bump up the timing a few degrees to take advantage of the
situation.
