I need some expert guidance on the subject of appropriate tubes for a TC's
tires (or tyres, if you prefer). I just received a set of 5 tires/tyres and
tubes from Coker Tires. (I'm trying 4.50 x 19 Firestones for the first time,
on the advice of other listers) When I looked at the tubes, I found that
four of them are labeled as follows: TC 4.00-18/19, 4-19 , and they look
puny by comparison to the tire they're supposed to be filling.
However, the other tube is labeled as 4-19/4.00-19 SL, is about 2 inches
larger on overall diameter, and also almost 1 inch larger in
cross-section.than the other four.
I immediately called Coker, and was told that the four small tubes were
fine, and so was the larger one, but they had no idea how I received the
larger one. (As I recall, the last time I got tubes from Coker, they were
labeled as 4.50 x 19s) They are still checking into the matter, but I
thought it was time to consult the collective wisdom of the Listers. What do
you say, folks?
