New tool for the mechanic who has everything: http://sheldonbrown.com/tork-grip.html Now for a bit of background: Over 30 years ago I found my first old M.G. - a 1951 TD that I still own. It was rusty, had rotten wood and had been sitting in the first owners backyard a block from my parent's house for enough years to have a small tree growing through the drivers side floorboard. I chopped down the little tree, fired it up and drove it home. I was young and had a complete set of both SAE and Metric wrenches, so I was ready to fix it up! Curiously, none of my tools really fit all that well and it was getting cold outside in the driveway. I resolved to bring as much of the car inside as possible so I could work on it in the warmth of my parent's basement. So I took the car completely to bits armed with nothing more than a can of penetrating oil, one of those little propane torches and two pair of Vise-Grips! If I'd had THIS tool I could have put it back together! Word of this circulated around the local M.G.C.C. Centre and one of the older members took pity on me and gave me a complete set of Whitworth sockets in both 3/8 and 1/2 inch drive and a set of Whitworth wrenches that he wasn't using anymore for $26, which I still have today. - Mike Hughes -t?t- /// unsubscribe/change address requests to majordomo@autox.team.net or try /// http://www.team.net/cgi-bin/majorcool /// http://www.team.net/mailman/listinfo /// Archives at http://www.team.net/archive/mg-mmm /// Send list postings to mg-mmm@autox.team.net |
