I have the same type of oil leak on my L2, from under the rear face of the
dynamo, turned out to be the hole for the threaded pin that locates the
front main bearing bush that had a connection with the oil grove in the
bearing. Conequently full oil pressure to the hole and a leak. Took the pin
out and put teflon tape on the threaded portion and jointing compound on
top, fixed that.


I had the same problem on the PA 1688 rebuild... the source and fix were 
exactly as Sven relates.
