Hi Bob,
   I enjoy, possibly because I don't use them often, the non-decimal
English weights and measures. An American, though one whose ancesters had
a certain disagreement with George III,  I anticipate with interest the
UK's future involvement with the EU.
   Do you know the basis for the 'stone' weight?  Is/was there a standard
stone at some time? Was there some relationship to something that
"everyone" knew or had, such as the inch = one's fore finger tip, foot =
one's foot length, fathom & span = one's arm spread, etc?
