Don,
I just checked my hanger pins and found that there is a thick (1/4")
washer outboard of the spring, but under the nut. This is confirmed by a
check of the parts list. (MG part number 809) on page 11.
The curious thing is that my Airline Coupe has this washer, except that
it has a rectangular section that has been welded on so as to snuggle up
under the body mount bracket. I speculate that that is there for extra
support of the heavier body.
Regards,
Lew

Don,
I would take the main leaf you have to your local friendly spring shop
and
have them make you a new leaf, using the old one as a pattern. Kansas
must
have as many cart sprung contraptions as Colorado. If you look in
"Blower"
you will find, at the top of page 494 for the fronts, & p.495 for the
rears,
a complete drawing of the MMM springs as originally supplied. By all
means
use modern tape between the leaves, originally they had nothing.
Cheers, "Bob".
