Jack,
Mike may have regular M-type catches, but are they the same as used on
the Sportsman Coupe?
I know that those on the Airline, for example, are very different than
those on the standard PA or PB. I mention Paul Beck since I've found
that on some of the really low-production cars oftem MG used standard
off-the-shelf items from its suppliers, and those items are often common
to other cars of the period.

Subject: M-Type Bonnet Catches
Hi!
My 1931 M-Type Sportsman's Coupe is in the last stages of
restoration. Of the original 6 bonnet (hood) catches, 2 are useable
and 3 are beyond repair. This style of catch was used on the 18/80
as well as the M-type.
Does anyone have some catches in good repair that I could purchase,
or know where I could get them?
If none are available, would anyone be interested in participating in
a bulk order to have new catches made up by Mike Allison?
=======================
I'm not sure of the exact style used on the Sportsman Coupe, but check
Paul Beck Vintage Supplies (http://www.vintagecarparts.co.uk/). They
have a number of stock items that may be similar or identical to what
you're after. I found they had the correct bonnet catches for my PB
Airline Coupe.
Regards,
Lew Palmer

Lou...M type bonnet latches are available from Mike Dowley. They are
repops and are simplified. To my knowledge the M is the only MG made
with these latches. If Mikes does not have these, Barry Walker at one
time had some repops. I have a set of four but they are keepers.
