In one of my many "greasy bits" boxes that came with PA 1823, I find 2 bronze
threaded "caps." They appear (in overall appearance) much like the rear
trunnion cap nuts only in miniature however the threads are on the outside.

The head has 6 sides which measure 1.12" across the flats (my bolt conversion
chart says W 9/16?) and end in a circular flange measuring 1.652" Each is
.835 deep (in total) with the cap representing .45" of the total depth, the
balance is threaded. The threads measure .82" across but I don't yet have a
thread guide so I can't confirm the type.
Anyone recognize location/use?

Don B.
