Well, just like most the others, my '99 Z71 just cranks on down on a cable with a little metal plate, if you will, that holds the rim up. No fancy gadgets to hold it up or anything. Of course I throw the flat in the bed, no reason to wrestle it back in place when I'm going to have to get it replaced anyway.
