We go one of two ways;
1. I form the SWTA and go for it.
2. The SCTA jumps in and uses WSMR as another racing venue to help offset
the over crowded Speed Weeks and provide Non EM racers another racing venue.
WSMR isn't plagued with a fragile climate like Bonneville. We would NEVER
have to worry about rain and the resulting floods. In 2005 when high tides hit
Bonneville and wiped out the year of racing, WSMR could have been used as
backup.
My thoughts are run a meet at WSMR in July as a test and tune, licensing
pass', shakedowns for new cars and setting class records at WSMR. We all know
KT
is foaming at the mouth for another Red Hat! LOL
Also a meet in November so all the racers who got weathered out at
Bonneville can vent.
Yes, there is EM but we all know EM is for "club members only". That's fine
and good but it would be nice for the rest of the SCTA membership to have a
place to race other than Bonneville. After all, we pay the same yearly dues but
cannot receive the same "return on investment" the EM racers get. Please
don't say anyone can run EM as we all know the deal.
The SCTA runs 8 races a year but most of the membership can only attend 2.
What do the listers think? Does the SCTA need another racing venue? Lets
hear from all the "Lurkers" out there for a change! Your opinion counts and
this
isn't a technical LSR topic. It effects all racers, especially the non-EMers.
