When I worked at my 1st after school job at Torrance airport the owner had a
Waco, a stearman, a stenson and a Howard. I was lucky enough to fly in each
one of them. One of the customers had a stagger wing beach that was really
bitchen with all, of the bells and whistles. A few years later he few it
into the side of a mountain in South America in a rain storm.
When I think back to the early days when I was a teen I was so lucky to be
around this life style and spent most of my working career in aerospace.
Great memories. When on my way to El Mirage on Friday I stopped at the race
track to visit a friend and go thru the Cobra Museum again.
While there they were getting ready for the Air Show at Nellis AFB and we
watched several WW-II air birds fly around. Damn, why did they have it the
same week end as the lakes and the drags at Pomona as well. Can't do them
all at the same time. Still had a great time.
