Car storage (non-LSR?)

It's that time of year when all the critters start moving in your stored 
vehicles. Packing insulation in the carb and air filter. Eating the 
pleather for dinner, chewing on insulation, ad nauseam.  The old standby 
was moth balls everywhere, deal with the smell in the spring. Have we 
progressed any in the 21st century? Is there a better way?
