Apparently my mails are not reaching the list.
Here, in brief, are my witty responses from this maorning, laced with 5 cups
of coffee:
Ed's transponder/reciever mail - I suggested a rename of the 260 model to
180, because that is as fast as it will read. I also put forth the suggestion
that the manufacturer develop the 500 model and foot the bill for installation,
use and troubleshooting said product.
Jon's laser idea. Jon said he didn't know how the timing is done. I pointed
him to page 8 of the rule book. I posed the question asking how many elements
it would take to laser time our current and proposed expanded timing system.
Keith's and others suggestion that a third short course be used for driver's
license passes. I pointed out that is/was the original intention of the new
timing lights in the first mile of the short course.
The Speedweek operational manuel, driver's meeting and other sources
reinforced this use. I also suggested that if a person cannot remember from
Sat.(driver's meeting) to Wed. their responsibility to ensure smooth operation
of the meet that we start DAILY driver's meetings. Everyone would be required
to attend. Attendance would be a hand stamp or other means of identification.
No daily hand stamp, sit out the day. Of course this meeting will have to be
held at 6AM prior to record runs because those drivers woud have to attend.
Lastly, if you do not do your part at the other end of the course you will
have Lee Kennedy in your face - who wants that?
Sorry for the long post,
