Dick,
The best advice I can give you is "Listen to Joe."
15-20 years ago the salt was smooth enough that cars could
go fast without suspension. It's very, very iffy these days.
Steering geometry is always critical. It's not unusual for
Lakester and Streamliners to get crossed up in the first
1/2 to 3/4 mile. When it's on the wet side, you may be using
a lot of steering input for the whole five miles.
Like I said, Study what Joe said, do it, and you will be
just fine.
