My understanding was he meant an early ('32-'48) block. I had my Packard
block on the engine stand for a while. It has a cast on bellhousing. It
never fell off. I also have an early ('51) Chrysler, long bellhousing,
block, with crank and heads on a stand, where it has been for at least 25
years. Hasn't fallen off yet. RF
