The moisture might well be an issue. But, by my calcs, dry air is only a
weight penalty of less than an ounce vs nitrogen in a large truck tire.

They use nitrogen because it is dry, no moisture and is easier on the tires.
Pure nitrogen is lighter than air so it helps a little, it sure did on the
truck tires.
