I wonder how many more racing seasons before the fans will be looking
up and down
the track( or pits )to see if there are any American cars left in the races ?
Big Ford layoffs / plant closings already announced ......looks like
the global economy
deal will bring about many many changes, whether we like them or not .......
A whole lotta room in China for Nascar to build tracks and peddle
merchandise.......
Since the early Fifties I seem to remember most of the oval track
associations' rulebooks stating something like this: "open to AMERICAN made
cars only,
between the years of
( various years given, depending on class ....... ). NO Convertibles,
station wagons, or pickup trucks allowed . I guess that is all going out
the
window now. Time Marches On ~
BTW : Is the term 'station wagon' used anymore these days, or has it joined
hand-
cranked engines, carbide lamps, and dimmer switches on the floorboard ?
