I've run the Texas Mile several times and have met other LSR racers there on
every visit. The location is pretty central to the southern half of the US,
and the track is great. The surface is a relatively newly constructed,
near-sea-level runway with a standing start mile marked off. The people are
friendly and run a very low stress event. Check it out at texasmile.com.
Looking forward to seeing some other LSR racers there on the 22nd and 23rd of
this month.

Subject: World Finals Cancelled, the Texas Mile Welcomes Land Speed Racers
Date: Tue, 4 Oct 2005 18:44:00 -0500
Good evening Racers & Race Fans,
At the Texas Mile, we have been getting several inquires about our October
22-23 meet from the LSR community, especially now since the World Finals had to
be cancelled due to safety concerns because of water. We want the LSR community
to know that the TexasMile facility has not been effected by any hurricanes and
we looking forward to a wonderful event this month. All the LSR community is
invited to attend. We are honoring the class structure of SCTA so no need for
you to make any modifications to compete in The Texas Mile.
