Ok, so what did we do today. I cleaned up some alternator wiring and
found the reason it wouldn't alt the last run time: loose wire on the
alternator output post. Then decided to change out the 42 pound
injectors for the stock ones since I do not have the tuner computer yet.
Went reasonably well. got them changed and a cousin I haven't seen in
about a billion years came to see me. So we put him to work also. I put
everyting back together and iut fired up, but not willingly. Still some
farkling needed to get the timing right as well as maybe some enrichment
on the injectors during the cold crank cycle. Ran it long enough to
veify that the alternator was alt'ing ok, oil pressure ok, fuel pressure
ok, forgot to look at the fuel air meter. I shut down then we started
Gary's car. Also not an easy start but not as hard as the first time. So
Gary is homing in on his issues just as I am mine. Then we all gave up,
Gary went home and I BBQ ribs and a big ol tritip. Ummm mmm good!
Potatoe salad baked beans, green salad, garlic toasted bread, fruit
salad, pickled okra (a Texas thing) plus other stuff. Now I may have a
piece of moose tracks pie (whatever it is, never had this before and as
long as it is not that other part of the moose...). HAd fun today.
Tomorrow is more of the same. I need to time the engine far better than
it is, not enough advance yet. When it get running good, then I need to
set the throttle valve cable to geiv eme 30 psi at some rpm, I forget.
Then I can button up the tranny blanket, put the tunnel and shifter in
and put the seat back in. Gotta get going, gotta be able to put it on
the trailer no later than the 15th. Not too long away. Ditto for Gary's
car...
In any case, I send another daily activity report at the end of tomorrow...
Ya'll be care no, ya hear?
