Is required octane directly related to compression ratio, or are there other
factors that figure in. Is there a chart somewhere to give a starting point
for determining necessary octane. In the past, I have bought 110 octane racing
fuel thinking that it was the smart move at the track, when I know the motor I
had would have run just fine on pump gas. I've read that putting in higher
than necessary is not a permormance enhancer, just money thrown away.
