Keith & all,
I wrote this reply while at Pepperdine University, but couldn't send it
since my server has a block on unfamiliar DSL companies. There is a way
around the problem, but I couldn't figure it out....Here is my reply.

As I had mentioned at an earlier date, Randy Liddell, our engine guru,
has been battling cancer. He lost his battle last Thursday. He will be
greatly missed. Randy has been part of our engine program since the
early 70's.

Right now I am sitting in my room at the Pepperdine University Campus in
Malibu CA. Margaret and I are attending the Bible Lectureships as we do
each year that we can. It is a great time to reflect on who you are and
what is important...I have to say that Bonneville is still an important
part of my existence, but sometimes I fear too much so.

At present the car is down to its lowest state...Having retrieved it
from Color Craft where I had the powder coating done, on Friday, I put
the frame and assorted pieces in my shop for assemble. They await my
return.

Besides making a much needed major restoration, I am adding Nitrous to
the engine this year. I haven't broken anything for a long time, so it
seems that I have not been pushing the envelope. Hopefully, this will
still not cause us great concerns, but time marches on and it seems that
we have wrung out about all the speed we will get with the present
setup. Anyway, that's my story and I am sticking to it!

Speedweek is planned to be an experimental endeavor. Hopefully, we will
have something left to run at the World of Speed. There we plan to give
my good friend, Mary West, the opportunity to take a shot at the 200 MPH
Club.
