WENDOVER - Technical difficulties and gusting winds Thursday thwarted the
Prime Time racing team from taking a run at the world land speed record for
electric-powered cars.
Driver Mark Newby and crew chief Colin Fallows will again attempt a
300 mph run in "e=motion," their 32-foot-long racer, this morning at about
7 a.m. - if the weather cooperates.
"Forecasters say we have a small window," said Malcolm Pittwood, the
British team's manager. "The pressure is on Colin and the crew to get the
car ready."
Expected rain and wind would halt the endeavor.
A test run went off without a hitch Wednesday at the Dolly Varden
Straight, a 10-mile section of Nevada alternate Highway 93, about 45 miles
south of Wendover.

It's amazing what you can do if you don't know it can't be done.
