I also got two pistons, and had to re-heat treat my heads---primarially
because I was not using a mechanical pump---I sent countless hours and
much grief--untill I found out what I had not remembered----these
mechanical pumps RAISE THE PRESSURE IN THE BLOCK---
That is why some people use "Restrictors"-- most think it is to slow
the water down in a high rpm engine---it is really to raise the pressure
which raise the boiling point and helps stop steam pockets---the killer
of high performance engs.. once you get a steam pocket the metal gets
hot because there is no direct contact between it and the water--and if
you have any impurities in the water you start to form ceramic like film
in this area---dramatically educing heat transfer-- = dead eng..

Five miles is a long pull on a motor.... think about running a water
tank
and smaller radiator if you need to or changing where it's located in
the
car.... your not going to be putting air through it are you?
