An interesting topic Joe , for what its worth here is my take , seeing that
im just graduating from LSR kindergarten ( do you have that over there ?) I
spose we down here are just plain lucky having no "salt condition problems
ha ha " but traction problems are universal ,but firstly what "traction
problems are we talking about ,acceleration induced or drag induced I spose
most instances would be acceleration ? for myself im investing most of my
capital into aerodynamics ,as I believe this is by far the most important
factor in "going faster " by a country mile ,I have looked at several
methods of improving traction over and above the crude method of adding
large quantities of mass , one method that I think warrents much more
investigation is that used by the F1 cars in the 70's which was so effective
it was banned "ground effect" using underbody venturies , from my research
so far it appears to have the lowest drag penality and can be greatly
enhansed by using a fan especially for low speeds , I believe that this
method can / could overcome any traction problems encountered , but it still
leaves us with our achilles heel " TYRES" . I will continue to go down the
road of AERO as this is the only way I will achieve my goal of running an
open bike at or above 300 mph . I have pushed very hard to have the rules
changed in the DLRA to allow far greater "inovation" in appling liberal
aero interpretations and I have succeeded in having most allowed , and
working hard to have the others changed in the near future
MY vote is AERO second choice is AERO
Gary ( working hard to get my nitrous junk heap to the salt on time )
