List -
I've been following the flamethrower & chrome threads and had some (very)
small thoughts to add...........
I've seen just about every kind of flamethrower rig at rod runs and car
shows - and I say keep it simple!
Wire in some spark plugs with a driver activated switch, rap the throttle
a bit, and as the rpm's drop hit the switch - the richness of the unburnt fuel
will make plenty of flames (enough to scare the poop out of my Mom, anyway).
The car is question was a rat rod I think, so this observation won't
matter much......
There's a local guy with a '56 Chevy who can just burble along at idle
with the flames popping & flashing out quite nicely. The chrome on his bumper
is all wrinkled from the constant heat - it looks like melting plastic! If you
dig the flames more than nice chrome, have fun!
