Bless you for doing that for those kids. It can really make a difference to
some of them.
Back in the seventh grade when I was just getting interested in electronics,
one of my father's fellow officers who was in the Signal Corps gave me a few
pieces of surplus radio gear and that started my lifelong interest and
career. Others along the way helped me but it was that Col. who got me
started.
Years later, after Basic Training, when I was assigned to a school at Fort
Monmouth, I discovered that he was then Chief Signal Officer there and was a
Major General! What a coincidence.
Getting kids interested in something constructive is rewarding and
worthwhile.

is that someone that steals chickens? : )i've got students from the local
high school here today ... something i do to give a little back !. i really
like helping kids especially as a mentoring program and as a carreer
facility for schools that send students interested in mechanics and
racing/hot-rods.the tech schools send me kids too!....this gives so much
satisfaction to me to help others on there way thru life and they are really
neat cuz they want to learn so bad!.......i wish more folks did it but they
don't. this is our future and the next generation of racers! if you ever get
asked...........do it one time!.it will re-new your faith in mankind and
gives you a warm fuzzy feeling to boot! dad
