As Dave points out, a "rate limiter" is pretty easy to build but if it's
illegal, the point is moot.
I'll open another can of worms-- similar technology could be used to
actively vary aero devices such as spoilers, canard wings, air vents, or
even chassis ride height. I haven't checked the rule book but this is
probably illegal, too.

Subject: RE: Traction Control
Ya know if a guy used a dual point distributor and hooked the second set up
to a deal that switch one set off and on he can do the same thing and retard
the timing. MSD also makes a little knob deal that will input to an MSD and
control the timing as well. they say it is for bad gas and that sort of
thing but you know they are fooling everyone cause if you feed 2 wheel
speeds into a frequency to voltage converter and then to an op-amp to
subtract one voltage from the other and compare that to allowed slip you
could feed the MSD a voltage to retard the timing.. You can do the same
thing by feeding the tach signal in to two frequency to voltage converters
and have one of them have a filter with a suitable cap so the rate of change
could be adjusted you just compare those and if she is picking up speed too
fast you retard the timing as well or set off the rev limiter but that is
too obvious. hell just go to the IBM patent server and look up Davis
technology and see how they did it..
