Tom ..... I recall reading about that in some auto magazine, I
cannot
recall which one . I believe the car was one of hotrodding's all-time
favorites,
a 55 Chevy !!! I remember the bike's driving sprocket almost touched the
salt,
and the speed was somewhere around 150 -155 MPH !!! The thing that
impressed me the most was the rear-facing throttle man sitting just a few
feet
ahead of the bike racer, while the driver up front was just the 'tillerman',
sort of
a backwards version of the tail-end fireman on big city hook & ladder trucks !
Cranking that bicycle at that sort of speed while hearing that
big blown rat motor up front must have given that dentist a bit more than his
needed amount of cardiac exercise on that day !
