During the wonderful big block era of that series someone built a can-am car
that seemed to have been inspired by the twin tank LSR cars - I think the
driver sat between the right wheels and the engine was between the left wheels
- The area between was flat , maybe 12" high in front and 18" in back - With
the engine inline with the right rear wheel would like to see how the drive
train was done .
