Am I over simplifying the design of my air inlet - In 5th gear I need at least 5.4 si inlet area to get full impact pressure (so inlet air spd. is no more car speed) - My fuel injection has a 4.25" dia throat so I'm using that size (14.2 si) air inlet and duct (24" long")- The inlet is in the tip of the nose ( streamliner) - As I understand it there is an aero penalty for a grossly oversize air inlet but a little oversize isn't too bad.
