The beauty of this kind of system is that the radiator doesn't have to be
Huge... mine happens to be because I plan on running at Maxton without the
added unpressurized water... so basically you take a radiator and stick on
some extention tubes to allow you to mount it in an aluminum box with about 1"
of water surrounding the inner radiator.... the stand off braces in mine are
designed to direct water to only flow through the radiator... it comes in on
one side and is forced to go through the radiator to the other side to be
recovered and pumped either back around again or into add on water tanks
mounted in different areas in car... I've also added a mesh screen so if I
want to put ice in the water it won't get stuck in the pump unit and jam it
up....or get trapped in the inlets...
Think about this for a minute.... you can mount a small radiator on it's side
if you want to with this set up... and have the water in the rocker panels for
example.... using it as ballast down low and you can carry as much as your
little heart desires.... if you segregate the small water boxes you can make
sure the water doesn't slosh around.... so on and so forth.... it's just a
Very happy way to build a system....with lots of options that aren't avalible
with a standard unit...
it sure helps if you can weld aluminum by the way.... I just cut up 1/8th inch
sheets into the sizes I needed and tacked it all together.... welded it up and
away we went..... Do stick the output steam hose outside the car and make sure
it can't be effected by sloshing water during accel or decel....
