Back when I learned about that trick, they were available at any corner
drugstore. You might check with a pharmacist that's over 50 years old......
He might remember what it was and where to get it :)

The military used a paper wrapping that did the same thing, it was called
VPI-- Vapor Phase Inhibitor. Maybe a websearch on camphor or VPI might turn
up a mail-order source.

That was probably my post about using camphor blocks to prevent rust from
forming on tools and measuring instruments. It slowly evaporates and the
camphor vapor forms a protective film on any metal that's in the same
drawer. You must keep the drawers closed when you're not using the tools to
make it effective.

I learned this old trick from a master machinist named "Lucky" Luckadoo in
Virginia years ago.
