Ed ....... Might you be referring to the A-Bomb " Fat Boy " dropped
from the Enola Gay, whose crew trained at Wendover during the war years ?
When in Wendover, you " newbies" might take time to see the monument
to those men on the main drag there ...... the plaques on it tell the
story in a
very abbreviated manner. It also is nice to add a pic or two of it to your
Bonneville / Wendover photo albums, as I did to add a little of the local
flavor, along with the casinos and mountains and such .
I diverge here ...... but I added a bunch of photos I took at that
huge
copper mining pit just west of Salt Lake City, on our first of five
voyages to
Speedweek, back in 1987....... that was an extremely interesting
side-trip,
and is one helluva big hole in the ground !!! ( I think list member Tom S.
lives nearby? )
