fine to use "just plain ol primer " as long as the substrate is clean rust
and oil free, most supposed professional paint jobs do just that I recomend
that you forget the 2pac paints unless you have proper safety equipment
rather nasty stuff to breath ( contains isocynates ) for home use use
acrylic and acrylic thinners dont use general purpose thinners poor
quallity ( my opinion ) a gravity feed spray gun is fine for undercoats
thats what I use but for top coats use a suction gun better quality
remember to take your time and let the paint dry between coats , spray
paint in a draft free area a garage is good and hose down the area you are
spraying in as it keeps the dust settled I generally use du pont products
if you want any specific help let me know
