I agree, Mayf--
"Motorcycle Lightning" was really excellent. Blew me away.
It really surprised me, though. "Sparky" and I were wandering around
"behind the camera" during some of the filming (SpeedWeek 2002-- before I
got the bike running)-- and I gotta admit that my expectations were not very
high for a great outcome to the film. The crew seemed young, inexperienced,
and not very professional. Boy, was I wrong! I gotta tape this thing next
time they air it.
Joe, Jon-- like Mayf said, you guys were great. You represented our sport
very well. Jon W. and Nancy-- always articulate, polished-- improving the
"biker" image, but still bikers to the bone! John Noonan and wife came off
very well, too. And it was good to see that TurboRick managed to get his
big grin on camera (w/o the ever-present "attitude" sunglasses??)-- even tho
he's back to "training wheels" lately! I recognized Began, but wasn't aware
of her accomplishments (or even that she was a rider). Gotta meet her next
time out.
And it was great to see Don V. one last time.
Sorry you folks with all those extra wheels didn't get your share of the
recognition, but I guess they were just emphasizing the bike theme. Anyway,
I think the film "did us ALL proud", as my grandparents would say.

What a wonderful program. Was this taped last year? I suspect so because I
wasn't there and I would have had to stick my nose in somewhere. Jon (Amo)
you did great! Joe (Amo), ditto and what was the nitrous problem? And the gu
on the partially streamlined busa or at least that what I think it
was.....yikes, 246 mph first time ever at the salt. And Begen...on the 175
cc 2 strioke: 135 and change. Yeeehaaa! Lots of people I don't know and they
could care less...but great going to all of them! Great show!
