Hi Guys
Just back from Lake Gairdner the turn out this year was less than last year
most likely due to the fact that this year we ran a 3.5day event and called
on all entrants and pit crews to assist in the relocation of the camp site
to a new location aprox 10 km from the origional site ,new owners of the
property have given the DLRA a perminante site to call our own it has some
old buildings which we are going to restore for accomodation ,cooking and
ablutions and a large shed to become a common area it has a perminante bore
water supply and a phone
I was again looking after scrutineering and first aid as my motor builder
let me down and so no bike to run this year (next year for sure hey joe
?)rod Hadfield ran a 260 mph in the bronzed aussie AA/FALT with a
spectacular spin at the 3 mile at 235mph 260mph was the top speed of the
meet john Lynches A/BFL had constant fuel problems and 2 fires so his 300mph
goal this year was not realised ; 8 cars destroyed there motors a new C/GALT
studebaker toped out at 204 mph and became the only new member in the 200
club norm hardinge almost set a 200 mph in his B/GR at 192 mph a suprise was
leigh russel in his insalt I/PRO with a 102 mph and running the same car in
I/BGCC at 28 psi 129 mph before the motor expired ,about 10 new drivers this
year all running in small capicity pro classes ,not much to report on the
bikes a kawa zx12 ran 194mph in stock trim no new records this year ,though
next year should see 2 new streamliners a turbo bussa and my bikes (fingers
crossed ) we are growing all the time 352 members now a new and permanate
site and no problem with insurance this year all bodes well for the future
so untill next year is out to the shed to get ready
Gary where the drought has broken in my area
