Tom, I use a 1/4 and a 3/8. An air ratchet is just to speed up the
process of
running down a nut or bolt. Then you torque like a normal ratchet. Years
ago I
did some R & D work for an air tool company. Air tools are like motors,
the more
air you make go through them the more power you make. I hopped up a 3/8
to about
100 ft.lb Boy was that a mistake! As you spun down a nut, when it
stopped it
had the power to slam your knuckles into something before you could let
off the
button. Never was so happy to see a tool break in all my life as that
