Glen:
"...salt AKA Wendover locktite"-- I love it. So far, haven't had anything
lock itself together, but we did experience the problem with electrical
connectors last year.

I practically grew up with "mil spec", and I've been thinking maybe a person
could find some salvage or surplus navy electrical connectors, which should
be designed to address almost the exact problem that we have. I want to
find something like that for everthing that needs to disconnect for service;
out of old habit, I solder everything else (because of a bad early
experience with crimp connectors).

Seems like I remember that Skip had something stored in oil-- probably was
the Dzus fasteners, as you suggest. Thanks.

And yes, I'm surely goin to try your and Neil's idea about the camphor.

List
Neil beat me to it, we have done it for years and it really works. The old
machinests with wooden tool chests were the ones that I learned from. It
stills pays
clean everything when you get home. Another thing a lot of the racers do is
put the DZUS fasteners in a coffee can of ATF so they don't rust during
the off season. The salt AKA as Wendover loctite will raise hell with any
moving part on the car / bike. A major clean-up and oiling of everything is
a must.
SAme goes for electrical connections.
