Subject: Racing on the Salt Flats - A Brown Bag Lecture
As part of the Utah's Sporting Past lecture series,
the lecture on Thursday, September 19 at noon, will be
"Racing on the Bonneville Salt Flats" by Jessie Embry and Ron Shook.
During this Power Point presentation, they will discuss the MG records,
famous drivers, and how these runs were advertisements for MG. The salt
flats were selected as the place to set speed records and to attract an
American audience.
Bring a lunch and join us In the Rio Grande Depot,
300 S 455 W. No charge.
Ron has been a radio announcer and course watcher for USFRA in the past
before he got "responsible" about his teaching at Utah State University.
(They also changed the starting dates at the University.)
Wish you could all be here to see and hear what they have to say. A
scholarly presentation but an enthusiasts slant to the whole thing.
