Lunar effects are minimal but regular. Hawaii has only 1high tide per "day"
and is barely observable I understand. New York gets a couple of feet of
range, Boston gets 8, and the Bay of Fundy (a big funnel at the north end of
the continent's coast) gets 30+' twice a day. So tidal effects are mostly a
result of topography and sloshing in rhythm.
