Dave, While I haven't been to Bonneville yet, I agree with your
thinking. For two years I ran my car at Maxton with an open rearend and was
spining the right rear wheel out on the course, where I don't know exactly
but the tire was showing the effects. So this year I got a posi unit in the
car and suprise, my speeds went up.In a very simplistic way to me this was a
traction device since that is what it was designed to do. Whether it is done
mechanically or electronically I don't see the difference. Progress has to
be a part of LSR or how else would records keep getting broken. After all
isn't progress what we chasing when we spend day after day working on our
cars.
