Whilst discussing the outright wheeldriven UK record with a fellow speed
enthusiast, it became apparent that not only is the choice of the person
that holds this UK 'title' difficult, but it raised the ironic possibility
(in view of recent debate of speeds listed at World level) that Richard
Noble was never the fastest person in Britain. Or at least to those on
this list whose arguments are consistent (or if Neil is correct in his
analysis.... pedantic!).
And I do not mean that Richard was never the fastest Briton (he was after
all the outright World Land Speed Record holder) but that his British
speeds were too slow to claim the "fastest" title here at home.
Question 1 - why wasn't Richard the fastest? (sorry it's so easy for this
group)
Question 2 - who holds the UK wheeldriven record?
No prizes once again, but it should stimulate some thinking..........
