Dale, the one book that has been of most value to me on the subject of conduct and attitude is "The Meditations of Marcus Aurelius" in the 1863 translation by George Long, M.A. I encountered this in middle age, but wish I had as a young man; would have saved myself a good deal of aggravation. Anybody else on this List familiar with this immortal classic?
