Jon:
I think you might have a wrong mental picture of where Bill is coming
from. I
can tell you that he is no novice, and has nothing against big motors.
He bought
the "first superbike" way back when they were still manufacturing them.
A
Vincent, that is. And he now owns a beautiful re-creation of a Vincent
Black
Lightning, like the one that Rollie Free rode to a 1000cc record
(150mph+) way
back in '49. And he used to own a Velocette dealership. And it was a
well-known
ex road-racer who turned him on to the little Ninja. So he's not just
into
"tiddlers".
Knowing Bill, I think it was a serious question-- not an implied
criticism-- when he asked
where all that speed comes from in a street bike. I also would like to
know how
you get a 220mph street bike without a turbo-- must be nitrous?? Was it
Rick that started this thread? I thought he is mainly into turbos.
