Ok, a lot of people on here grew up or hung out in L.A. years ago so perhaps
someone will be able to answer this, I've been meaning to ask this for almost
a year. On San Pedro and 102nd Street, there was a guy who used to make cams
by the name of Owen R. Brown (Owen's Camshaft Service). Had the big grey two
story building with tin doors. Does anyone know what happened to him? I
hadn't talked to him in about 3 or 4 years (at that time) and went by to see
what he was up to. The building is now bright yellow and turned into a
hardware store.
P.S.: Oh yeah, Dick, back in '82, Owen offered me TWO complete 392's (yes,
the carbs were still on them) AND a magnesium Bower's straight rotor 8-71 for
$1,000, no I didn't buy them and yes, I'm still kicking myself
