We are never certain what is happening, however as of this moment we are told
the following is the latest!
THIS HAS HAPPENED:
DANA POINT, CA. - - - - Michael F. Goodwin, 56, was arrested Friday (December
14) for two counts of murder, conspiracy to commit murder (with three special
circumstances). Goodwin is being held, without bail, in Orange County, for the
murders of auto racing legend Mickey Thompson and his wife, Trudy, who were
shot to death outside their Bradbury, California home, March 16, 1988, 6:00
a.m., as they were leaving for work.

This May Happen - Currently Scheduled Court Dates:
February 21, 2002: Goodwin's attorney has filed with the Orange County
Superior Court for a Recusal Hearing in their attempt to remove the case from
Orange County. It is scheduled before the Superior Court calendar Judge Gary
Paer, Division 55, 3rd floor, Central Court (that's the Main Courthouse,) 700
Civic Center West, Santa Ana, at 9:00 a.m. The case will undoubtedly be
assigned to another court room?
March 1, 2002: Goodwin's Preliminary Hearing is rescheduled to be held at the
Orange County Central Courthouse, Santa Ana. During the first scheduled
Preliminary Hearing on January 30th, the defense requested a continuance. It
is now set to go before the Superior Court calendar Judge Gary Paer, Division
55, 3rd floor, Central Court (that's the Main Courthouse, 700 Civic Center
West, Santa Ana,) at 9:00 a.m. It is likely the case will be assigned to
another courtroom?
February 15, 2002 Federal Court Hearing has just been rescheduled to: Feb. 17,
2003 by request of the defense. Goodwin was scheduled to appear (regarding his
Federal case) for a Probation Revocation Hearing for Federal Probation
Violations, however, that appearance has again been delayed, this time for
another year. Goodwin was arrested by FBI Agents July 14, 1993. On October
25, 1995 a Federal Jury convicted Goodwin and his ex-wife, Diane Seidel, of 13
counts of Conspiracy and Lying on loan applications to commit Bank Fraud.
July 8, 1996 Goodwin was convicted of bilking two banks out of thousands of
dollars. Goodwin and his former wife were sentenced to 2 = years in Federal
Prison. If this hearing takes place next year, it will be at the
Federal Courthouse, 411 W. 4th St., 10th floor, Santa Ana, before Judge
Taylor.
